BEING FORMED

BEING FORMED

A lump of coal is FORMED into a diamond

…only after immense pressure is applied.

A hunk of steel is FORMED and FASHIONED into a sword

       …FORGED with intense heat.

Gold and Silver are REFINED BY FIRE… bringing all the impurities to the surface to be removed.

God made David a king… not by giving him a crown…

       …by giving him Goliath.

“But now, thus says the LORD, who CREATED you, O Jacob,

And He who FORMED you, O Israel:

‘Fear not…

…You are Mine.

When you pass through the waters…

…they shall not overflow you.

When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned…’” (Isa43:1-3NKJV)

Yes, you are CREATED as a Son of God.

But often, as Jacob (supplanter, deceiver) we continue working to get the promises of God - our inheritance - by TRYING to make it happen.

God is FORMING us into Israel (prince of God) where we BECOME the promise of God and that Word becomes flesh… we become His inheritance. (Deut32:9;Eph1:18)

So… why do we feel like we are under so much pressure?

Why are we going through trials… even legal battles not of our own doing?

Why does it seem like we come out of one storm and go right into another?

Jas1:2-4NKJV “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials”

WHAAAT?

Jas1:3NKJV “knowing that the testing of your faith PRODUCES patience (hupomone – constant, cheerful, consistency)”

NOTICE:

·       in Mtt7:24-27 THE STORM came to both houses, but the one who heard the Word and acted on it - whose FOUNDATION was on the ROCK - stood. The one who did not act upon the word of Christ, built his house on sand (a mixture of earth and minute pieces of rock) and it collapsed.

·       Dan2:31-45 describes Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a great image that had feet part of iron, part of clay. Its FOUNDATION was a mixture.  And a STONE cut out without human hands struck the FOUNDATION and it was destroyed.

·       Eze13:1-16 describes a wall that we and our builders have built with man-made brick and covered with whitewash. A great a mighty wind shall come and destroy what WE have built…

“…so that its FOUNDATION is exposed!” (Eze13:14BSB)

Those trials and storms come to expose your FOUNDATION… to test your FAITH… the place from which you see all of life.

And THAT process FORMS IN YOU a joyful confident assurance… the FOUNDATION of CHRIST IN YOU which stands unshakeable and sure. (2Tim2:19)

We are BEING FORMED!

2Ti2:21NKJV “…a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, PREPARED for every good work”
