ON THE ROAD

Image
ON THE ROAD   Several years back I was reading Hebrews 3:13 NKJV “but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” And one word in particular leapt off the page and seared itself into my heart… … “DAILY”!   Being a “word nerd”, I had to look up “DAILY” to see if there was any nuance of meaning shedding broader light, rather than just breezing over it without much thought.   “DAILY” is actually translated from two Greek words, “hekasten hemeran”.   “hekasten” is described by The Bible Hub “HELPS – Word Studies” as: (from   hekas , "separate") –   each   ( individual ) unit   viewed   distinctly , i.e. as opposed to "severally" (as a   group ).   “hemeran” means “day” - (literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (depending on context)   The literal translation of the verse reads, “bu...

PROCRASTINATION

Image
PROCRASTINATION   I have put off writing this for a long time (hahaha). I tend to look at the whole daunting process of researching, writing, editing, finding the picture, and finally sending it out… …as an overall huge undertaking        …so consequently piddle away the time doing ANYTHING ELSE under the sun that enters my mind…   The Bible may not use the word, “PROCRASTINATION” , but it directly addresses “DELAY” , “LAZINESS” , and “PUTTING OFF WHAT ONE OUGHT TO DO” ·          Pr20:4BSB “ THE SLACKER does not plow in season; at harvest time he looks, but nothing is there.”   ·          2Tim4:5TLB “ Leave nothing undone that you OUGHT TO DO .”   ·          Jas4:17NIV “If anyone, then, knows the good they OUGHT TO DO and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”   ·   ...

OUR FILTER

Image
OUR FILTER   It is interesting how everything we read, hear, see, or receive through our senses is all perceived and processed through OUR FILTER … the particular lens through which we perceive every event, situation, and new bit of life information bombarding us at any point in time.   Every new circumstance is a mystery… a riddle, per se… that we have somehow calculated a way to perceive that makes sense to us.   1Cor13:9,12NKJV “For we know in part and we prophesy in part… …for now we see in a mirror, DIMLY …” DIMLY - ainigmati : Riddle, enigma, an obscure thing     Our unregenerate brain is not built to find truth. It is wired to defend what we already believe.   Psychologists call it “confirmation bias”. Once we start to believe something, our mind becomes its bodyguard hunting for evidence that agrees with us and discards everything that does not.   We believe we are being logical, but logic came seco...

PERFECT PEACE

Image
PERFECT PEACE   In scripture there is a reason that something is repeated. Authors of the Bible, as well as other ancient literature, utilized words repeated in immediate succession, with no other words in between for intense emotional emphasis, urgency, or dramatic impact.   When YHWH calls out a name… TWICE… such as "Abraham, Abraham" in Gen22:11 it is to say, “Wake up! I’m about to say something very important”… …drawing immediate attention to something urgent…   Sometimes a word is even tripled… like, "Holy, holy, holy" in Isa6:3 to highlight extreme importance, certainty, or divine holiness.   YHWH even rebukes the priests and prophets of Israel who tried to assure the people “saying, ‘ PEACE, PEACE ,’ When there is no peace.” (Jer6:14)   But then HE states His compassion for the people… even in their rebellion… saying in Isa57:18-19AMP: “I have seen his [willful] ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him [also] and will re...
