LIVE BY HIS FAITH

 

We have always heard, “THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY FAITH”…

But… have we ever stopped to really contemplate what that means?

 

First of all… how do we become RIGHTEOUS?

 2Cor5:21KJV “For HE (God vs20) hath made HIM (Christ vs20) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might BE MADE the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD in HIM.”

WE HAVE BEEN MADE [ginomai: - to cause to be ("gen"-erate)]

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD!

 

 

“For in the gospel THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD is revealed,

both springing from FAITH and leading to FAITH

[disclosed in a way that awakens more FAITH].

As it is written and forever remains written,

“THE JUST and UPRIGHT SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” (Rom1:17AMP…quoting Hab2:4.)

 

 

Let's take a closer look at Hab2:4KJV:

"Behold the proud,

His soul is not upright in him;

But THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE

BY HIS FAITH.”

 

“BY HIS FAITH” is translated from a single compound Hebrew word בֶּאֱמוּנָת֥וֹ (be'emunato),

which is broken down into three distinct parts:

  • בְּ (Be) - The Prefix "In/By"
    •  a preposition meaning: "In," "with," or "by".
  • אֱמוּנָה (Emunah)
    • While often translated as "FAITH," emunah represents a steady, active trust or faithfulness, and deep commitment rather than just passive mental belief.

·         וֹ (O) - The possessive pronoun "HIS"

 

Combined, בֶּאֱמוּנָת֥וֹ (be’emunato) translates literally: "in/by His faithfulness" or "in/by His firm trust."

 

 

Hab2:1NKJV states: “I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what HE WILL SAY TO ME…”

 HE WHO?... The LORD!    …who says, "…Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” (Hab2:2)

 

Then by what am I living?

By what HE HAS SAID to me…

…THAT is what I will write down so we may all run

…and now live

 

Eph2:8-9NKJV “For by grace you have been saved THROUGH FAITH,

AND THAT (the FAITH) NOT OF YOURSELVES;

it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should BOAST.”

[Hab2:4KJV "Behold the proud (puffed up, to swell)

His soul is not upright in him]

 

 

“For I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I LIVE; yet not I, but Christ LIVETH in me: and the LIFE which I now LIVE in the flesh I LIVE…   BY THE FAITH… OF THE SON OF GOD, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Gal2:20KJV)

 

 

WAIT… by whose FAITH do we LIVE?

 

Hab2:4 “THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY HIS FAITH”!

WHAT YOU ALLOW
