There are times we feel as though all the solid ground has been removed from beneath our feet…

…Everything has been shaken…

…Our stability gone

We grasp for anything for security…

…calling ANYONE for help

…to once again find some sure place to stand

 

Is30:13-15,18NLT “…calamity will come upon you suddenly- like a bulging wall that bursts and falls. In an instant it will collapse and come crashing down. You will be smashed like a piece of pottery- shattered so completely that there won't be a piece big enough to carry coals from a fireplace or a little water from the well.

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘Only in returning to ME and resting in ME will you be saved.

In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it…’

 …So, the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion.

…For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.”

 

What is a crutch?

Something you lean on for support and balance until you can stand and walk on your own two feet.

Why do we look all around for other people and things to uphold us, when HE IS WAITING FOR US?

…And HE WILL BE the SECURITY AND STABILITY of your times…”

an ever-present help in times of trouble.

…Therefore we will not fear…”

 

Ps121:2NASB95 “My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.”

 

Ps37:5,7,9ERV “Depend on the LORD. Trust in HIM, and HE will help you.

Trust in the LORD and wait quietly for HIS help…

…those who call to the LORD for help will get the land HE promised.”

 

Ps62:6AMPC “HE ONLY is my Rock and my Salvation; HE IS my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.”

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
