SURELY, HE HATH
SURELY, HE HATH!
It is funny how you can get 3 words going over and over in your mind like pebbles in a rock tumbler. Round and round they go intermingling with various other thoughts throughout the day.
SURELY, HE HATH!
The realization that it is about what Christ HAS ALREADY DONE, rather than what He is going to do finally becomes clearer as it continues to roll over and over, polishing and refining the words until they become smooth stones with which to take down your giant.
SURELY, HE HATH!
“SURELY, HE HATH borne our GRIEFS, and carried our SORROWS: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.” (Isa53:4KJV)
“Borne”: - to carry away, ease, bear, help, pardon, take away
“GRIEFS”:- translated as: malady, anxiety, calamity…
…BUT MAINLY AS: sickness, or disease. “grief" only 4 times.
“SORROWS”: - anguish or affliction:- grief, PAIN, sorrow
Mtt8:17KJV “That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself TOOK our infirmities” (feebleness, malady, sickness), and bare our sicknesses (malady, disease, infirmity)
SURELY, HE HATH!
Our Father struck Christ with ALL of our SICKNESS and DISEASE … HE afflicted Him with our PAIN…and Christ TOOK IT. (Isa53:4)
SURELY, HE HATH!
The word “TOOK" is translated from a Hebrew word intended to paint a mural in one's mind of backdrop, scenery, and action. It depicts a man getting a firm hold on a painful burden, bearing it up, rising to his feet, and walking away with it… removing it from that place.
Christ TOOK our pain… our sickness… our disease… our frailty… our weakness…
…all that held us captive…
…put it upon His back
…and walked away with it.
SURELY, HE HATH!
It is not something He is going to do…
…He already did it!
We don’t have to convince Him we need a healing…
…He already TOOK it – bore it – so we wouldn’t have to.
…He TOOK it in our place and our behalf…
…and it pleased our Father to put it on Christ for us. (Isa53:10)
We don’t have to beg for it… we have it… it is already ours!
Why else would He say,
“IT IS FINISHED”?
SURELY, HE HATH!
