LINES AND BOUNDARIES

 

Ps16:6NASB95. “The LINES have fallen to me in pleasant places”

 

In context, the Amplified Version gives a better understanding of what the Psalmist is saying:

“The LORD is the portion of my inheritance,

my cup [He is all I need];

You support my lot.

The [BOUNDARY] LINES [of the land]

have fallen for me in pleasant places;

Indeed, MY HERITAGE is beautiful to me.

I will bless the LORD who has counseled me;

Indeed, my heart (mind) instructs me in the night.

I have set the LORD continually before me;

Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my innermost self] rejoices;

My body too will dwell [confidently] in safety, (Ps16:5-9AMP)

 

During any discussion about LINES AND BOUNDARIES, the general consensus is that they are indicating the limits and fences established to keep you IN a designated area… under a certain dominion… within specific parameters.

 

BUT…

What if those LINES AND BOUNDARIES show us the expanse of our inheritance…

                  …the far reaches of our power and authority in an eternal KINGDOM

…encompassing the entirety of Heaven and Earth.

 

Our FATHER has “…established all the BOUNDARIES of the earth…” (Ps74:17NASB95)

 

Pr22:28NASB95 “Do not move the ancient BOUNDARY Which your fathers have set”

 

 

Without the LINES AND BOUNDARIES…

…how would you know:

·       “…the way wherein (you) must walk and the work that (you) must do.”? (Ex18:20KJV)

·       what is YOUR land and what is not?

·       for what you are to fight?

·        what you ALREADY HAVE… onto which to “hold fast til I come” (Rev2:25NKJV)?

·       what has been promised and given as your inheritance?

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes,

and in Him Amen,

to the glory of God through us.”(2Cor1:20NKJV)

 


“He set a BOUNDARY for the sea So that the water would not violate His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth;” (Pr8:29NASB)

                  ALL OF HIS LINES AND BOUNDARIES ARE… “BY PERPETUAL DECREE” (Jer5:22NKJV)

 

And the enemy comes to steal THAT DECREE… THE WORD…  BY:

1.         Removing the BOUNDARIES of the people

2.         robbing their treasures

3.         Putting down the inhabitants like a valiant man

4.         Reaching his hand as into a nest of the people to gather all the eggs for himself

5.         Gathers the whole Earth

6.         and NO ONE... MOVES THE WING, OPENS THE MOUTH, OR PEEPS

                  …because we don't know where the LINES AND BOUNDARIES are! (Isa10:12-14)

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
