FRUSTRATING GRACE
FRUSTRATING GRACE
I used to own a construction company, creating water features, retaining walls, stone walkways, outdoor kitchens, etc… for various residential and commercial clients.
Over the years I had multiple employees… some very good… some unbelievably bad.
One guy who worked with me for quite awhile had been in construction most of his adult life. He had a great attitude and a heart to work, but I invariably had to re-do whatever he had just done.
He was lamenting one day that he was never able to do well in any type of construction he had done… wondering why everyone on the job would get frustrated, including him.
I finally asked him what was EASY for him to do?
He thought for a brief moment… and then with a big smile said, “I love to work with handicapped kids.”
Within a week he had enrolled in a program to get certified and found an interim job working in that field. He finally found fulfillment and joy.
Why is it so hard for us to recognize the GRACE OF GOD on our life?
Is it because we think there must be a struggle
and it must be somehow earned?
We do not understand that GRACE is an unmerited cloak of power for everyday living that brings us
- and everyone within our sphere -
into a life of LIBERTY… PEACE… AND JOY.
We think that the GRACE OF GOD or “THE ANOINTING” on our lives is something miraculous or supernatural… whereas, in all actuality… it is something so NATURAL and easy for us… we think it is …well… JUST US.
We are so SLICK or OILED in that particular thing… that everything moves easily…
…it all just flows…
…freely
EVERY DAY… NATURALLY… WITH LIFE…
…AND THAT MORE ABUNDANTLY (Jn10:10)
We try working at it, attempting to make it happen… praying more… studying more…
And all the while FRUSTRATING ourselves and everyone around us.
BUT…
“…where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2Cor3:17KJV)
We were created to bring HIS PRESENCE
Because IN HIS PRESENCE “IS FULNESS OF JOY” (Ps16:11)
Ps45:7BSB “…God, has ANOINTED you above your companions with the OIL OF JOY.”
Gal2:21KJV “I do not frustrate THE GRACE OF GOD”
