THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE

 

I'm reminded of a little chorus we used to often sing:

“This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine…

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine…

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine…

Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine…”

 

Unfortunately… too often we allow problems, worry, anxiety, insecurity, unworthiness, etc all but snuff out our little light, leaving  us feeling weak, insignificant, and lost in the midst of the surrounding darkness.

 

However, God has put something in place to remedy this. 

 

In Zec4:1-3, Zechariah saw in a vision

·       a solid gold lampstand with a bowl for the oil on top

·       The lamp stand had seven lamps

·       each lamp had a golden spout for the wicks.

·       two olive trees overshadowing the lampstand, one on the right and one on the left.

 

The angel describes what the vision represented (Zec4:6-7TPT):

       It is the message of YAHWEH to Zerubbabel:

“You will not succeed by military might nor by your own strength but by my Spirit,” says YAHWEH, Commander of Angel Armies.  “And what are you, O mighty mountain? Before you, Zerubbabel, this mountain of obstacles will crumble. Then he will set the capstone in place to shouts of ‘Grace and beauty be upon it!’

 

Zec4:11-14TPT “Then I asked the angel two questions: “What about these two olive trees on each side of the lampstand?  And what are the two branches from which golden oil flows through the two golden pipes?”… …He explained, “These branches are THE TWO SONS OF OIL who serve the Lord of all the earth.”

 

 

Did you know that in the TEMPLE “The fire shall be BURNING CONTINUALLY upon the altar; IT SHALL NOT GO OUT.”? (Lev6:13AMPC)

 

1Cor3:16NKJV “Do you not know that YOU ARE THE TEMPLE of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”

 

Pr20:27NKJV “The spirit of a man is THE LAMP of the LORD, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.”

 

Ps18:28NKJV “For YOU will LIGHT MY LAMP; The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.”

 

AND because of  HIS FIRE… HIS MIGHT… HIS POWER…

HIS SPIRIT  WITHIN YOU…

…the mountain of obstacles before you

WILL CRUMBLE!

…HE will seal it all SHOUTING, “GRACE” to it.

 

God has placed two sons of oil… one on either side of YOU… to pour oil into YOUR LAMP…

YOUR SPIRIT MAN…

so… THE LIGHT… THE FIRE…

…never goes out in HIS TEMPLE… YOU… again!

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
