STEADFAST TO THE END

 

Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, IF we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.


     The word, “confidence” is also translated, “trust”…

and is more surprisingly translated “substance” in Hebrew 11:1, where “NOW Faith is the Substance of things hoped for”. 

 

This is the type of confidence that KNOWS it is already there.

 

It is not around the corner, nor going to happen tomorrow… it already is in hand… NOW!


The word ,”steadfast”, is also translated as:  “known to be true”, “certain”, “verified”
      “to make firm”, “establish”, “confirm”, “make sure”.

·       2 Pet 1:10. Make your calling and election SURE

·       Romans 4:16 it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be SURE to all the seed;

·       1 Corinthians 1:6 Even as the testimony of Christ was CONFIRMED in you:

·       Mark 16:20 …the Lord working with [them – italicized, not in Greek] and CONFIRMING the word with signs following.


It is often used as a legal term where the will is only “in force” after the death of the testator.

 

It is an assurance of a covenant or promise ALREADY IN FORCE or in place…

 

IT IS ALREADY IN YOUR ACCOUNT!


Hebrews 6:12 KJV “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”


      The Greek Word, “makrothumia”, used here for “patience”, is most often translated “longsuffering”. 

 

However, longsuffering does not mean to just have to suffer with whatever you happen to be going through for a long time.

 

 “Makro”, does mean “long or enduring”,

…but “thumos” means “intense fiery passion”. 

 

So… to read it with the intent of the word itself, you would say, “ to continue with the same intense, fiery passion you had in the beginning and not let that enduring flame go out”

 


THAT is how you inherit the promises and become partakers of Christ…

 

to hold that beginning of our faith, which is fully persuaded of the substance already placed in our account, with the same intense, fiery passion…

 

all the way…

 

WITH CONFIDENCE…

 

STEADFAST…

 

TO THE END!

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
