NOW YOU ARE SONS

 

A lot of times we are still trying to become sons of God, so we "do" those things that we think will get us there... Never realizing we are still operating in dead works attempting to SERVE a living God

Jn15:15KJV “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”

Gal4:1KJV “Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;”

The key part here: "as long as he is a child"

A child thinks about keeping on daddy's good side; weighs out good and evil by the laws of the house; thinks like a servant to his father... He thinks in terms of "doing", because he doesn't really know who he is and what his father has really prepared for him…. Oblivious to the ways of his father.

As long as he continues that way, he is under tutors and governors to bring him up into the ways of his father (Gal4:2)...

So he understands the authority of his father, in and outside the house…

so he understands his Father's heart and WHY he operates the way he does... Not just the "HOW";

so he gets to the place where he is a "Ben" (Hebrew) - a son, builder of the family name;

so he can say, "if you have seen me, you have seen my father.”

1Cor13:11 “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

As long as we are a child, we are in bondage UNDER THE ELEMENTS OF THE WORLD (Gal 4:3).  We are looking FORWARD to becoming an heir... still TRYING to get to be to a place where we KNOW that we are seated WITH Christ in heavenly places...

…still TRYING to become something we already ARE

Gal4:4-6KJV "But when the fulness of time WAS COME..." 

When was that?...

…when "God sent forth HIS Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 

to redeem them that were under the law,

that we might receive the adoption of sons

"AND BECAUSE YE ARE SONS,

God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father”.

“And if sons, then also heirs; heirs of God and co-heirs with Yeshua The Messiah, for if we suffer with him, we shall also be glorified with him”. (Rom 8:17 Aramaic Bible in Plain English)

Gal4:7 “Therefore you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ”

1Jn3:2 Beloved,

NOW ARE WE THE SONS OF GOD!”
