JUSTIFIED BY FAITH
JUSTIFIED BY FAITH
When you are BORN AGAIN, you are a baby. You begin learning the language and culture of that society into which you were born… often parroting and throwing around words without understanding the meaning, nor the power behind what we speak.
For instance… reading Rom3:28NASB95,
“For we maintain that a man is JUSTIFIED BY FAITH apart from works of the Law.”
What does it mean to be “JUSTIFIED BY FAITH”?
First of all… what is “JUSTIFIED”?
The Greek word “dikaioo”, translated “JUSTIFIED”, means: freed, vindicated, acquitted, approved, to be made right or righteous.
It is interesting to note that the “oo” ending on this verb conveys “to bring to/ out”… leading the reader to understand that one has been BROUGHT OUT of something and INTO another position or place.
Hence… Col1:13NKJV “HE has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”
…that HE might be JUST, and THE JUSTIFIER of him which believeth in Jesus. (Rom3:26KJV)
…and now we have been “made the righteousness of God IN HIM.” (2Cor5:21KJV)
SO… How are we “JUSTIFIED”, or acquitted, approved, and placed in right standing with God?
Well… it says in Rom3:28 above, as well as Rom3:30; Rom5:1; Gal216; and Gal3:24… we are JUSTIFIED BY FAITH…
Remember… “FAITH” is never used as a verb.
It is a noun… a person, place, or thing.
It is not something you do, nor a quantitative measure of something acquired.
FAITH is not a decision to be made… but rather a PLACE from which your decisions are made.
It is a place – seated in Christ at the right hand of the Father in Heavenly places (Eph2:6) – from which you now see all of life.
So… whose FAITH is it?
Gal2:16KJV “Knowing that a man is NOT JUSTIFIED by the works of the law, but by THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be JUSTIFIED BY THE FAITH OF CHRIST…”
But… why is it by HIS FAITH?
Paul explains this very well 4 verses later in Gal2:20:
1. “I am crucified with Christ…” [I am dead]
2. “nevertheless, I live”
3. “yet not I, but Christ liveth in me”
4. “and the life which I now live in the flesh”
5. “I live by THE FAITH OF the Son of God”
Since we are made ONE IN HIM (Rom6:5)… we see how HE sees it… and believe what HE believes about it.
HE made you righteous! (2Cor5:21)
HE made you holy and blameless! (Col1:22)
You are JUSTIFIED BY FAITH…
…NOW… SEEING YOU HOW HE SEES YOU!
