WHAT YOU ALLOW

 

The age old question, “Why would a loving God LET that happen?”, comes from a very confusing perspective of the sovereignty of God.

 

The Oxford dictionary defines “LET” as: “NOT prevent or forbid”, but, rather… “ALLOW.”

…as in, "my boss LET me leave early"

                                    …or… “who LET the dogs out?”

We wonder why He doesn't intervene to prevent evil from happening, but, then again- most people would rather Him not meddle at all and LET us do what we please.

 

However, in His sovereignty, God gave dominion over everything on the Earth to MAN! (Gen1:26,28)

 

Yes… Adam fell and forfeited his standing with The Creator of All…

BUT… The last Adam, Jesus Christ, RESTORED the grace… the right standing… and the authority to once again rule and have dominion.

 

Because of the abundance of grace …And the gift of righteousness

                                    WE…“…SHALL REIGN IN LIFE by one, Christ Jesus.” (Rom5:17KJV)

 

No wonder “…creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God's sons to be made known...” (Rom8:19AMPC)

 

Christ said,  “ALL AUTHORITY has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

[YOU] GO THEREFORE…” (Mtt28:18,19NKJV)

 

“Behold, I GIVE YOU THE AUTHORITY to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Lk10:19NKJV)

 

“I will give YOU the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and GOD in heaven WILL ALLOW whatever YOU ALLOW on earth. But he will NOT ALLOW anything that YOU DON’T ALLOW.” (Mtt16:19CEV)

 

As sons of God we are led by the Spirit of God (Rom8:14)

We are to represent Him…

“I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. (Jn8:28NKJV)

“…those things which I heard from Him.” (Jn8:26NKJV)

 

NOW YOU… ALLOW…

“LET this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil2:5NKJV)

“LET the peace of God rule in your hearts,” (Col3:15NKJV)

“LET the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom,” (Col3:16NKJV)

“LET your light so shine before men,” (Mtt5:16NKJV)

“LET patience have its perfect work,

that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” (Jas1:4-6NKJV)

 

AND YOU… DISALLOW…

“LET NOT your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (Jn14:27NKJV)

“LET NOT sin therefore reign in your mortal body” (Rom6:12KJV)

“LET NOT corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” (Eph4:26,29,31KJV)

“LET NOTHING be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. (Phil2:3NKJV)

 

 

And Christ… and all of Heaven declares…

(Mtt8:13;9:29NKJV)

“… as you have believed… according to your faith….

 …LET IT BE DONE FOR YOU.”

CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
