LET YOUR FRUIT SPEAK?

 

 

People say, , “God told me”…  or “Holy Spirit directed me…”or…

“this business belongs to Jesus, He tells me what to do!”

 

 

WHY?

 

 

Why do they preface THEIR works with such statements?

 

 

Isn’t it a ruse of the enemy to keep them unapproachable, uncorrectable, and continuing their own way without interference?

…ITS INTENT: prevent ANYONE from speaking into them or the situation…

After all… “who are YOU to contradict what God has said?”

 

 

“Every tree is known by his own fruit.” (Lk6:44)

“…by their fruits you shall know them.” (Mtt7:20)

 

An apple tree does not have to tell you it is one… it just bears apples!

…a cherry tree bears cherries. 

 

You can tell a Dogwood Tree by its “Bark”…

well… maybe that doesn’t fit the analogy.

 

 

If I have to tell you I am a certain type of tree, it is probably because there is NO FRUIT to make identification easy.

 

 

“He that speaks of himself seeks his own glory…” (Jn7:18)

 

 

The Pharisees did everything… DESIROUS TO BE SEEN of men as followers of God. (Mtt23:5)

 

“…do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do…

that they may have glory of men.” (Mtt6:2)

“…clouds they are without water, carried about of winds;

trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit…” (Jude12)

 

 

BUT… “I will show you my faith by my works” (Jas2:18)…

by what I produce…

by what my life demonstrates…

by what and how I BUILD…

BECAUSE OF the seed of life which produced me.

 

 

 

SOOOO… WHAT ARE WE BUILDING?

 

 

“WE are labourers together WITH GOD:

YOU are God’s husbandry,

YOU ARE GOD’S BUILDING.” (1Cor3:9)

 

Heb3:4 “For every house is BUILT by someone, but He who BUILT all things is God.”

 

 

So… we are not BUILDING some inanimate thing… church… business… meeting… ministry… etc

 

We are CO-LABORING to BUILD THE TEMPLE OF GOD…

 

Whose TEMPLE YOU ARE. (1Cor3:16-17)

 

If I am BUILDING WITH CHRIST…

…the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance) will be abundant…

 

 

 

We must take heed HOW we BUILD (1Cor3:10)

 

 

Paul said, “YOU ARE my seal of apostleship in the Lord” (1Cor9:3)

            …the fruit of YOUR LIFE will prove whether or not I was sent by God.

 

 

You won’t have to tell anyone that you were sent by Christ…

…nor qualify what you are doing by saying, “God said.”
