LIMITING GOD

 

 

“How often did they provoke him in the wilderness,

and grieve him in the desert!

Yes, they turned back and tempted God,

AND LIMITED THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL.”

(Ps78:40-41)

 

 

WHAAAAT???!!

 

WE can LIMIT the creator of Heaven and Earth?

 

 

HOW?

 

 

The Message Bible simply describes the above events in Heb3:15-19:

 

“For who were the people who turned a deaf ear?

Weren’t they the very ones Moses led out of Egypt?

And who was God provoked with for forty years?

Wasn’t it those who turned a deaf ear

and ended up corpses in the wilderness?

And when he swore that they’d never get where they were going,

wasn’t he talking to the ones who turned a deaf ear?

They never got there

because they never listened…

…never believed.”

                                    [UNBELIEF – NO FAITH]

 

 

The Kingdom of God operates by FAITH.

 

Heb11:3 “THROUGH FAITH we understand that the worlds were framed BY THE WORD OF GOD,

so that things which ARE SEEN

were NOT made of things which do appear.”

 

Because FAITH is seeing from the perspective of Christ,

SEATED at the right hand of the Father,

having the PROOF and EVIDENCE of things not seen…

            …BECAUSE HE SAID SO!...

and already possessing AS SUBSTANCE every exceeding great and precious promise pertaining to life and godliness. (Heb11:1;2Pet1:3-4)

 

 “ALL THE PROMISES OF GOD in him are yes, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2Cor1:20)

 

 

“Abraham didn't focus on his own impotence and say,

‘It's hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.’

…Nor did he survey Sarah's decades of infertility and give up. 

He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions.

He didn’t stagger in UNBELIEF.

HE WAS FULLY PERSUADED

that what God had promised,

HE was also able to perform.”

                                                (Rom4:19-21 The Message & KJV)

 

 

In Mk9:23 Jesus said…

“ALL things are possible

to him that believes.”

 

 

Heb3:12-14MSG

“So, watch your step, friends.

Make sure there’s NO EVIL UNBELIEF lying around

that will trip you up and throw you off course,

diverting you from the living God.

For as long as God’s still calling it TODAY,

keep each other on your toes so sin doesn’t slow down your reflexes.

If we can only keep our grip on the SURE THING we started out with,

we’re in this WITH CHRIST for the long haul.

These words keep ringing in our ears:

TODAY, please LISTEN;

don’t turn a deaf ear as in the bitter uprising.”

 

…THUS, LIMITING THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL.

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
