SIN CROUCHES AT YOUR DOOR
SIN CROUCHES AT YOUR DOOR
Gen4:6-7AMPC “And the Lord said to Cain, ‘Why are you angry? And why do you look sad and depressed and dejected? If you do well, will you not be accepted?
And if you do not do well,
· sin crouches at your door;
sin - chatta'ah (khat-taw-aw') noun feminine:- sin, sinful thing = literally: a crouching beast
crouches – rabats: to stretch oneself out, to lie down stretched out
· its desire is for you,
“Desire” - in the original sense of stretching out after; a longing -- desire.
As a beast to devour (Gen4:7)
“For you” - denoting motion to, into, or direction towards (whether physical or mental)
· but you must master it.’”
mashal: to rule, have dominion, reign
In other words…
“Sin, as a crouching beast has positioned itself at your doorstep, desiring to devour you as soon as you make your appearance… but… you are its master. You have the authority to take dominion and RULE over it”
1Pet5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
What do Prey do when a lion roars?
they either freeze in terror… OR…
they frantically flee, not aware of speed, direction, nor the degree of danger…
…often running directly into the waiting pride at the opposite end of the Savannah.
HOWEVER…
“Fear not,
nor be dismayed (to lay prostrate, immobilized by fear)
be strong and of good courage...” (Josh10:25)
“LET NOT SIN RULE as king in your mortal bodies...” (Rom6:12)
Rom5:17 “…they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness
SHALL REIGN IN LIFE by one, Jesus Christ.”
1Pet3:21-22AMPC “…Jesus Christ… has now entered into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with [all] angels and authorities and powers made subservient to Him.”
Eph2:4-6 “…God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions,
· made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
· raised us up with Him,
· SEATED US WITH HIM in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
SO…
Ps110:1-2 “…SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool…
…RULE
IN THE MIDST
OF YOUR ENEMIES!”
