A NEW CREATURE

 

 

2Cor5:16-17 “Therefore, from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,

he is A NEW CREATURE,

the old things ARE passed away;

behold, ALL things ARE become new.”

 

CREATURE: ktísis – properly, creation (creature) which is founded from nothing (this is also the sense of this term from Homer and other Ancient Greek texts on); creation out of nothing 

 

 

Just as we have known Christ according to the flesh, but know Him this way no longer…

So, we used to be of the flesh… but no longer.

 

So… you used to be a Human being.

                  What are you now?

                                    A new species…

                                                      A NEW CREATURE…

                                                                        …a son of God, born of the Spirit of God

 

Jn3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

 

Jesus, the Christ, was both son of man AND son of God… exemplifying how we now live in this world, but not of it… demonstrating how we also live in full representation of the type and kind of creature we are and the Kingdom into which we were born and now dwell.

 

1Jn4:17 “…because as He is, so also are we in this world”

 

Jesus preached, “Repent… for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Mtt4:17)

                  REPENT: - metanoia: after being with, change your way of thinking

…the way in which you reach "bottom-line" conclusions.

 

 

Religion keeps us earthbound sinners yearning to be raptured from this miserable existence… always trying to be better… dotting every “i” and crossing every “t” to try to appease God and deem ourselves acceptable and approved.

 

But…   

You are chosen by Jesus Christ (Jn15:16,19)

                  You are A NEW CREATURE (2Cor5:17)

                  NOW you are a son of God (Gal4:6)

 

So… change your way of thinking…

                  …you are A NEW CREATURE

...under rule of a different king …dwelling in a different kingdom.

 

 

Gal6:15 “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything,

but A NEW CREATURE.”

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
