WHAT IS IN YOUR GENES?

 

Jn3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

 

We've heard this scripture a thousand times… and probably can quote it in our sleep.

 

Now let's read Heb11:17… “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac …his ONLY BEGOTTEN SON,”

 

WHAAAAAAAT?

Was Isaac Abraham’s ONLY BEGOTTEN SON?

No… as a matter of fact, Isaac was not even the firstborn… Ishmael was.

 

 

That got me thinking…

It says, Jesus Christ is God’s ONLY BEGOTTEN SON?

 

BUT… wasn’t HE the “FIRSTBORN among MANY brethren”? (Rom8:29)

 

Doesn't it say in 1Jn3:2, “NOW ARE WE SONS OF GOD”?

 

So, what would be the thought, intent, purpose and motive BEHIND the original Greek phrase used here:

ton huion ton monogene  [literal: the son the only begotten]?

 

 

What does “monogene” mean?

·      Mono – alone, only, singular

·      Gene – unique in kind

 

So… literally, “monogene” would mean, “SINGULARLY UNIQUE IN KIND”

 

What is a gene?

A gene is the basic unit or code of heredity passed from parent to child determining who they are.

 

 

“GENE – SIS”... your origin... your beginning...

WHO you are created to be…

A new creation..

born of the SPIRIT

with ONLY the genes of our FATHER.

-       Mono-gene -

 

 

Jas1:23-24NKJV “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer,

he is like a man observing his NATURAL (Greek: GENESIS) face in a mirror;

for he observes himself, goes away,

and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.”

 

 

The reason we don't do the WORD:

…we forgot our GENESIS!

…our genetic makeup as a SON OF GOD.

 

 

Jesus Christ is a SINGULARLY UNIQUE KIND OF SON CREATED FOR A SINGULARLY UNIQUE PURPOSE… that whosoever believes on HIM shall not perish but have everlasting life.

 

 

 

Isaac was also a SINGULARLY UNIQUE KIND OF SON CREATED FOR A SINGULARLY UNIQUE PURPOSE.

 

 

LIKEWISE…

 “Because YOU ARE SONS…

God has sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Wherefore you are no more a servant,

…but a SON

…and if a SON,

…then an heir of God through Christ.” (Gal4:6-7)

 

 

God so loves the world right now…

He is sending…

YOU…

 

A SINGULARLY UNIQUE KIND OF SON…

CREATED FOR A SINGULARLY UNIQUE PURPOSE…

TO DEMONSTRATE HIM…

AND HIS KINGDOM…

FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS

  THE DAILY LOAD   “Blessed be the Lord Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah” (Ps68:19)   The word, “selah” is used throughout the Psalms and other Hebrew music and poetry as a notation similar to “a rest” in our modern music.
