FEARLESS OR FEAR NOT?

 

 

The other day I was driving alone to meet up with some people for dinner in a nearby town. I got very excited about the idea of actually being FEARLESS…

you know…

·      FREE FROM FEAR

·      BOLD

·       BRAVE

·       courageous

·       dauntless

·       gallant

·       gutsy

·       heroic

·       intrepid

·       lionhearted

 

 

I thought, “wow, I'd like to get a shirt that has “FEARLESS” emblazoned with some eye-popping design just to remind myself and every onlooker of my identity.”

 

 

Prov28:1NASB95 “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.”

 

 

“…maybe even get that tattoo I've been thinking about… the face of a roaring lion etched on my right arm!”

 

 

My mind was racing… I began to think of what, “FEAR LESS” or to be “FEARLESS” meant… TO ME!

 

 

“It's not recklessness… It’s the rigorous, deliberate assessment of the risks associated with YOUR insecurities, doubts, and anxieties.

 

Instead of simply ‘not having fears,’ maybe it can mean having the courage to pull YOUR fears out from the shadows and look at them in the light of day.

 

When YOU’RE FEARLESS, you know YOU’LL be okay… no matter the outcome.”

 

 

Right in the middle of all that zeal and enthusiasm, I heard a still, small voice say,

 

"I never said 'fear less'"

"I said, 'fear not'"

 

 

HMMM…

“FEARLESS” is about ME… who I am… what MY character and nature is.

 

 

Did you know that in the Bible "FEAR NOT" is used 365 times?

...and it is used as a statement either from or about Our Creator... Our Heavenly Father... our King...

 

It is as though He is giving us a reminder…

EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR

of Him... and His strength, His might, His character, His nature, His ability... His care, love and watchful eye concerning every facet of who you are and what you are to HIM... HIS desire to give you “everything that pertains to life and godliness” (2Pet1:3)

 

So... “FEAR NOT..."

 

 

Lk12:32 "FEAR NOT, little flock;

for it is your Father's good pleasure

to give you the kingdom."

 

 

"FEARLESS" is about YOU and who YOU are...

 

"FEAR NOT" is because of HIM and who HE is!

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
