THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH

 

 

Jn14:6 “Jesus said unto him, I am the way, THE TRUTH (aletheia), and the life.”

 

 

2Tim3:1-7 says, “in the last days…men shall be:

lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, intemperate and loose in morals, uncontrolled and fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, rash and head-strong, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God…

 

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:

 

FROM SUCH TURN AWAY.”

 

For they “creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

 

…Ever learning, and never able to come to THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH”

 

"of the truth" is one word: "aletheia."

 

In ancient Greek culture, “alḗtheia” was synonymous for "reality" as the opposite of illusion – properly: truth (true to fact and the sincere idea behind it), reality.

 

but it is the GENITIVE form of that noun... making it possessive...

much like the genitive form of Craig would be Craig's.

Likewise, this genitive form of “aletheia” would be “aletheia's”... or TRUTH'S

 

 

SO... what are they ever learning and never able to come to?

 

TRUTH'S KNOWLEDGE… What HE KNOWS... how HE KNOWS IT... how HE THINKS, BELIEVES... UNDERSTANDS... and PERCEIVES.

 

 

Titus1:1NASB “Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and

THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, which is according to godliness,”

 

 

1Tim2:3-4 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have ALL men to be SAVED [sozo: to be in health, prosper, get on well, be delivered, be made whole], and to come unto THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.”

 

 

2Tim2:25 “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.

 

Repentance: - metanoia: to change the mind or one's way of thinking.

 

 

So… the literal translation would be: “With gentle strength… discipline, educate and train those inclined to be contentious (always disputing and disagreeing) so God may gift them with the ability to exchange their way of thinking for HIS …

TRUTH’S KNOWLEDGE!”

  THE DAILY LOAD   “Blessed be the Lord Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah” (Ps68:19)   The word, “selah” is used throughout the Psalms and other Hebrew music and poetry as a notation similar to “a rest” in our modern music. The Perfect Will of God

  The Perfect Will of God   Rom12:2  “…Do not be CONFORMED to this WORLD , but be TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING of your MIND , that you may PROVE WHAT IS that GOOD and ACCEPTABLE and PERFECT WILL OF GOD .”   I was always taught that there were three different WILLS of God… And you are placed in one WILL or another determined by your maturity level, your faith, and your closeness to God.   However… let's dissect this verse to clearly see the intent behind each part.   ·        CONFORMED – properly means: assuming a similar  outward  form (expression) by following the same  pattern  (model, mold). ·        WORLD - properly, an  age  ( era , "time-span"),  characterized by a specific quality  (type) of existence ·        TRANSFORMED - metamorphóō - changing form or shape in keeping with a transformed inner reality...
