ANOTHER GOSPEL

 

GOSPEL = GOOD NEWS

 

In 1980 my wife and I were in Dallas at movie pre-production meeting. 

 

During a short break the writer came up to us, and proceeded to tell us that the Lord had told him that my wife was pregnant. 

 

I thought… “that didn’t take much “spiritual insight… she already is… “great with child”.

 

He then proceeded to say something only we knew… that “she would not be able to nurse the baby because of cysts throughout her breasts and body…”

“BUT…”, he stated, “the Lord wants her healed!” 

 

His wife laid her hands on my wife… he laid his hands on his wife and began to speak to the cysts and the body. 

 

My wife said it was like a searing fire started at her head and burned through her body to her feet. 

 

All the cysts were gone!

 

Acts16:31 “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be SAVED…”

 

SAVED! – SOZO: - to be healed, prosper, get on well, rescued, delivered, be made whole!

 

It pleased God to put ALL the sin, sickness, disease, and pain upon Jesus Christ so we don’t have to bear it. (Isa53)

 

Acts4:12 “Neither is there salvation IN ANY OTHER: for there is NONE OTHER NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be SAVED.”

 

Mtt24:14NASB “THIS GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations….”

 

1Cor15:2BSB “BY THIS GOSPEL you are saved…”

 

AND…

The Lord has always “worked with, CONFIRMING THE WORD with signs following” (Mk16:20). 

 

HOWEVER,

“well intentioned believers” have invariably approached me, 

or those people prayed for, 

preaching their “GOOD NEWS” of natural therapies, diets, remedies, and formulas 

they are convinced will SAVE people from their suffering… 

 

Gal1:6–7 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ UNTO ANOTHER GOSPEL [another of a different kind]:

Which is not ANOTHER [of the same kind or similar type];

but there be some that trouble you [agitate causing inner perplexity]

and would pervert

the GOSPEL OF CHRIST.”

 

SO… What or WHO is the SAVIOR?

 

Whose kingdom do we represent?

 

Are we preaching ANOTHER GOSPEL?
