It seems like everywhere I have gone and with most everyone to whom I have spoken in the last few years have one common thread running through the forefront of their mind…

clouding their vision…

neutralizing their “effectiveness” for the Kingdom of God…

blocked…

locked up…

and keeping them at a stalemate, just existing rather than living “life and that more abundantly.”

For so many varied reasons…

THEY FEEL DISQUALIFIED.

1Cor9:27 “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

In the above passage Paul was “competing” well himself in a race and had called many to join him

(the word preached is kēryxas, signifying a herald summoning contestants to a race)

but that did not guarantee him a victorious finish.

He understood the possibility that even he could be “disqualified for the prize”.

The above phrase is a single Greek word (adokimos) literally meaning “UNAPPROVED.”

2Cor13:5 “Examine yourselves, whether ye be

in the faith;

prove your own selves.

Know ye not your own selves,

how that Jesus Christ is in you,

except ye be reprobates? (adokimos – failing to pass the test, UNAPPROVED, counterfeit; properly used of metals and coin)

The literal Greek translation says it so clearly:

“Yourselves examine whether you are in the faith

Yourselves test

Or not do you recognize yourselves

That Jesus Christ is in you

If not

UNAPPROVED you are.”

2Tim2:1 “…be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”

Rom8:33

“Who shall bring a charge against God's elect?

It is God who JUSTIFIES.”

JUSTIFIES [dikaióō – properly, APPROVED

especially in a judicial, legal, authoritative sense;

to show what is right, i.e. conformed to a proper standard]

Gal2:16 “Knowing that a man is not

JUSTIFIED [APPROVED]

by the works of the law,

but by the faith OF Jesus Christ.

even we have believed in Jesus Christ,

that we might be JUSTIFIED [APPROVED]

by the faith OF Christ,

and not by the works of the law”

Rom8:30 “Moreover whom he did predestinate,

them he also called:

and whom he called,

them he also JUSTIFIED [APPROVED]

and whom he JUSTIFIED [APPROVED],

them he also glorified.
