Nicolaitans


 


“But I have a few things against thee…

because thou hast… also there them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.”  (REV2:14-15)

Even the mere idea that THEY are the common folk and WE are somehow superior . . Shows the very underlying impetus of the deeds of the Nicolaitans. (ie clergy / laity)


Whatever happened to "...Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves...."  Phil 1:3?


What if, as leadership we would pour out our lives to "edify (lift up) the church” (body of believers)... what if we actually find what THEY are called to do and equip THEM "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the STATURE OF THE FULNESS OF CHRIST"?  (Eph 4:10-16)



What if I give my life to help you find YOUR purpose in Christ and fulfill it?

My "job" is not to fulfill MY MINISTRY 

BUT… as Christ, to lay down MY life so YOU can live.



As one who is "dead in Christ" MY ministry,  MY goals, MY purpose mean NOTHING!

 

I am dead!  

 

"The life that I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith OF the Son of God." (Gal 2:20)

 

It is not even MY faith by which I live anymore.


If I am IN CHRIST, I find out what HE believes about you, your purpose, this situation, this body, our relationship... and live by THAT!

 

2Cor3:17

“Now… where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

(They) exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 

BUT…

 

SO SHALL IT NOT BE AMONG YOU:

 but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister (servant): 

And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all;  

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
