FROM SERVANT TO SON

 

One morning I awakened with a HAPPY shout of, “Good morning, Father… what do you want me to do today?”

 

To which He replied, “I never wanted you to DO anything, but to BE…

And to BE WITH ME.

   

‘I no longer call you a servant; for a servant doesn’t know what his lord is doing: 

but I have called you friend; 

for everything I have heard of my Father 

I have made known unto you’ (Jn 15:15)

 

“Most of your life you have thought of yourself as a servant, always having do something, to perform for my approval”

 

“Now I say, That the HEIR, 

as long as he is a child, 

differs nothing from a servant, 

though he is lord of all; 

But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.” (Gal 4:1-2)

 

I started crying, “Lord, I know, I am still a child… 

I’m still needing to be under tutors and governors until you believe I am ready as an heir.”

 

He replied, “what is said AFTER that?”

 

I had forgotten, so I had to look it up. 

“…thou art no more a servant, 

but a SON; 

and if a SON, 

then an HEIR of God through Christ.” (Gal 4:7) 

 

“I'm taking you out of all the law of performance…

And because YOU ARE A SON…

I am placing in your heart THE SPIRIT OF MY SON, crying, ABBA, FATHER!” (Gal4:6)

 

The adoption is complete! (Gal4:5)

 

“You always have been an heir…

BUT… STILL THINKING LIKE A CHILD…

Therefore, you weren't any different than a servant… 

you were still in bondage to the elements of this world” (Gal4:3)

Still trying to perform for my acceptance, approval, and a place with me. 

 

BUT NO MORE!

 

“The FULNESS of time has already come… (Gal4:4)

not because of what you have to do… 

or have done… 

But… rather… 

Because of what I DID!” (Gal 4:3-6)

 

“YOU ARE A SON!

 

AND AS A SON…

 

AN HEIR!”

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
