FOUND IN HIM


Our completion of purpose on this Earth was never to be fulfilled by what we DO, but rather in WHO we are…

… as sons of the living God.


We often try to find ourselves by identifying with external things: 

our job…Titles… hobbies…ministry.., gifts… etc…

thinking that somehow what I do will finally determine who I am, by what I have or am accomplishing.


We are lost…


It is like we still have an umbilical cord and are desperately trying to find where to plug back in… a place to fit… a place to belong… a place or someone with which to connect and identify


We have forgotten that our identity, value, worth, accomplishment, life, and purpose is all found in only one place...


In Christ... 

identifying with my Father…


“I and my Father are one.” (Jn10:30)

 

“…even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, 

that they also may be in Us, 

so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one.” (Jn17:21-22)


“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

 “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” (Jn17:16-17)


“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” (Jn15:5)


“…abide in him.” (1Jn2:28)


“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.” (Rom6:5)


“…You are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” (Col3:3)


“Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:” (Rom6:8; 2Tim2:11)


“For in him we live, and move, and have our being.” (Acts17:28)


“You are complete in him.” (Col2:10)


 "…BE FOUND IN HIM..."  (Phi3:9)

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
