You Do Err

As a young man I had two men who watched the Word in my life.

One would hear me trying to explain a scripture and would simply say, “but… what does that say?”

After I stumbled around for a minute he would repeat, “but… what does that say?”

The other one repeatedly asked me, “Well… What does your FATHER say…?”

Neither gave their opinion, but, instead, brought me back to the accountability of Our Heavenly Father and Christ, His Word. (Jn 1:1-14)

“Before (a man’s) own master he stands or falls” (Rom 14:4)

They did not “father me”, but as Christ… showed me the Father.

The Word was our mutual footing… a foundation on which all things were built..  an unchangeable constant upon which we could stand and agree. .

The “word” in Jn 1 above is the Greek word, “logos”…

Which… doesn’t mean The Bible…

…nor to write, proclaim, or simply speak.

LOGOS means:

THE VERY THOUGHT, INTENT, PURPOSE, AND MOTIVE

BEHIND WHAT IS SPOKEN.

THAT is who became flesh…

…the “express image” (Gk charaker) of the Father (Heb 1:3)

And… “He upholds all things by the Word of His Power” (Heb 1:3)

The WORD comes from a place of power… the nature of the Creator of all.

He says…

…It happens!

Psalm 138:2  “thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name”

Our Father thought enough of His word… He had someone write it down (He used the first “Ghost Writer”)

Even Christ said, “It is written…”

Mt 22:19
“...You err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”

We hold tight to what our experience, tradition, or favorite teacher has taught us…  refusing to believe what the WORD actually says.

1 Corinthians 14:11

“Therefore if I know not the meaning (Greek: dunamis:- miraculous power/ ability) of the voice,

I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian,

and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.”

1 Thessalonians 1:5

“…our gospel came not unto you in word only,

but also in power (dunamis)”

John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

Speak what He speaks!

From where He speaks it!

It will reproduce in power!
