THE RESISTANCE

 

 

Throughout history, As long as there have been tyrants, dictators and oppressive regimes… there has been “THE RESISTANCE”

…rising up from the midst of the conquered populace to restore the liberty of the “common folk”.

 

This handful of people will stand, opposing and thwarting any attempts by the oppressive rulers to dominate and subjugate the people with force and fear.

 

This small band naturally forges relationships based on trust and mutual respect, to carry out debilitating attacks undermining and destroying the works of the enemy.

 

Each person does their part in concert with “the whole”, culminating in the collective desired goal: 

To end tyranny…

oust the invaders…

restore PEACE AND LIBERTY.

 

 

We are THE RESISTANCE…

 

 

…Sent to the Kingdom “for such a time as this”

…For if you remain completely silent at this time,

relief and deliverance will arise…  from another place,

but you and your father’s house will perish.”

(Esth4:14NKJV)

 

 

But OUR BATTLE isn’t wrestling flesh and blood… (Eph6:12)

… Nor sickness, disease, addiction, lack, or want…

 

 

It’s about…

…WHOSE RIGHT IT IS TO RULE IN THE TEMPLES OF THE MOST HIGH GOD! (2Thess2:4)

…WHOSE TEMPLE YOU ARE!

(1Cor3:16;2Cor6:16)

 

James 4:7

·       SUBMIT yourselves to God.

·       RESIST the devil,

·       He (the devil) will flee from you.

 

SUBMIT – hupotassomai

·       Hupo:- properly: “under”; often meaning “under  authority” of someone as a subordinate, subject to their power

·       Tasso:- primarily a MILITARY TERM  meaning “to designate a specific status”, and “appoint, commissioning in a deliberate fixed order”

[JESUS CHRIST: , “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth…

                       …Go therefore…” (Mtt28:18-19NKJV)

 

THEN…

RESIST -  anthistemi -  A MILITARY TERM used throughout classical Greek literature meaning “to strongly resist an opponent with firm stance”

In general, “anthistemi“ means:

·       TO OPPOSE FULLY

·       Forcefully declare one’s unswerving stance

·       keep one’s possession

·       Hold one’s ground, Refusing to be moved

·       Ardently withstand without giving up or letting go

 

So…

1.     SUBMIT to your designated status/ FIXED order,

Placed by God under the authority delegated to you by Jesus Christ.

2.     RESIST the devil; opposing fully without giving up…

“hold fast what you have, that no man take your crown.” (Rev3:11NKJV)

 

3.     THE ENEMY WILL FLEE!

 

Est4:14NKJV “…YOU HAVE COME TO THE KINGDOM FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.”

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
