Praying The Problem

Praying the problem.

How often do we find ourselves complaining to our Father about our dire situation?…

our disintegrating relationships?…

our looming bills in light of our current finances?…

the enemy running roughshod over our life?

Ancient armies would have standard bearers carrying a flag/banner representing their kingdom’s superior strength, wealth, manpower, or ferociousness in battle.   Sometimes seeing that approaching banner was enough to make enemy soldiers flee in terror.

The victor would often “plant the flag” to claim that territory.

Isaiah 59:19 …When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

“You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah” (Ps 60:4 NASB)

So… what is THE TRUTH?

Is the raging storm the truth?

Or is the Word of the One Who created all things the Truth?

During a battle with the powerful Amalekites, a nomadic warrior tribe, Moses stood on a hill where he could see the armies below. He held the “rod of God” as a standard in his hand.

“As long as Moses kept his hands raised, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning”.

As Moses’ arms wearied, Aaron and Hur stepped in to keep them raised.

After the victory, Moses built an altar, naming it Yahweh-Nissi,  the Lord is my banner.” (Exodus 17)

Is our Father/King disinterested, needing a reminder of the enemy and his deeds?

Or is He our banner and we speak for Him into stormy situations?

John 12:31–32 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.  And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Once we focus on HIM and not the enemy… we again see the standard… high and lifted up… declaring victory for the king

You are a son of an almighty king!

No weapon formed against you shall prosper!  (Isa 54:17)

For which king are you speaking?.

Raise the standard.

STAND…

PLANTED FIRM!

Speak what Christ believes…

Re-present  His Kingdom!
