Praying a Formula


 


PRAYING A FORMULA

 

 

We tend to approach the Kingdom of God as though searching for a secret formula or winning combo in a casino of life. 

 

 

All too often we treat prayer as gamble… a game of chance where we slip in our token, pull the lever, and then wait anxiously, hoping for a payout.

 

 

It is not a game with a reward for those who play it correctly, daring to move only where the cards dealt dictate.

 

 

Neither are we beggars trying to move the heart of an aloof rich person, who holds the power of our success, failure, healing, deliverance, prosperity, and very life in his hand. 

 

 

He is our FATHER!

 

 

He showed the early Jewish people His character and nature through Abraham, the father of many nations. 

 

Yahweh, God changed Abraham’s name from Abram – aloof or lofty father – to Abraham – near father of many – to show, even in a name, who HE was to them. 

 

 

We have seen it all backwards. 

 

 

It is our FATHER who is investing or planting in US. 

 

 

And… It is not a gamble for Him…

 

 

Mark 4:13–14

“Know ye not this parable?

 and how then will ye know all parables? 

The sower soweth the word.”

 

 

Mark 4:26–28  

“So is the kingdom of God, 

as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 

And should sleep, and rise night and day, 

and the seed should spring and grow up, 

he knoweth not how. 

For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself”

 

 

Galatians 6:7  “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”

 

 

There is no formula. 

 

 

There is no right or wrong way…

 

 

There is no, “do this so HE can release that”

 

 

There is the sower (our Father).

 

 

The seed (the Word).

 

 

And you (the soil in which the seed is planted).

 

 

HE BELIEVES IN THE POWER OF THE SEED!

 

 

Isaiah 46:9–11  

 

“I AM God, and there is none like me…

 

…I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; 

 

…I have purposed it, I will also do it.”

 

 

 

Jeremiah 1:12   

 

“…I will hasten my word to perform it”

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
