My Soul Doth Magnify


 

“And Mary said,

My soul doth magnify the Lord,
        And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour”. (Lk 1:46-47)

 

My soul (psuche - mind, will, and emotions) always magnifies something. .. whether it be a problem... a fear... a situation...



Why not magnify the Lord... After all... HE is high and lifted up ... far above all power, principality, ruler, might, and dominion...


We seem to be all wrapped up in our little soulish anxieties, wondering if we are going to get delivered... hoping God will hear our cry for help.


Are you kidding????



We already have a saviour.  He was already sent.  He said, "IT IS FINISHED!" ... AND HE SAT DOWN!


He is not standing there, wringing his hands, asking the Holy Spirit what they should do to get us out.


IT IS FINISHED!


MY SOUL DOTH MAGNIFY THE LORD!!!!!


Ps 35:27; 40:16
.... let the Lord be magnified....


Ps 35:9
And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord:
It shall rejoice in his salvation.


Phil 4:4. Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.


Ps 43:5; 42:5,11
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? 

 

and why art thou disquieted within me?


Hope in God: for I shall yet praise him,


Who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

 

 

Psalm 34:3  O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

 

 

Psalm 70:4. Let all those that seek thee 

 

rejoice and be glad in thee: 

 

and let such as love thy salvation 

 

say continually, 

 

“Let God be magnified.”

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
