Always Speak Truth


 

“I ONLY SPEAK TRUTH!”

 

 

REALLY?

 

 

Truth is not just a set of principles or a statement of fact... it is a person.

Christ said, “I am the way... THE TRUTH... and the life”

 

 

There is so much “truth” currently in the air  bringing confusion, division, and animosity. We have seen a version of an idea, concept, or scenario that seems plausible in our mind… and then we preach it as truth as far and wide as we are able. 

 

 

In John 17:14–15 Christ is praying, “ they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.”

 

 

We are sent to influence the world as salt and light. (Mt 5:13,14)

 

But WE get wrapped up in what we SEE in the world… form an opinion… and then shout that opinion as truth… even declaring it was revealed by God… just to give added weight. 

 

 

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.



In John 16:13-14 Christ  refers to Holy Spirit as “the Spirit of Truth”.
And that when He is come, 

1.     he will guide you into ALL TRUTH. :

2.     for he shall NOT SPEAK OF HIMSELF 

3.    but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: 

4.    and he will shew you things to come. 

5.    He shall GLORIFY ME: 

6.    for he shall RECEIVE of mine, and shall SHEW it unto you.

So…

 

 

For which lord do we speak?

 

“…if any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ,” (1Pet 4:11)

 

John 12:50 “whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak”.

 

 

Are we representing our Father’s Kingdom?



Speaking by the Spirit for Christ, we should be able to say….


“the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”..(Jn 6:33)

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
