The Two Trees


 


Decisions, Decisions…

 

It is a amazing how much time we spend fretting over figuring out which direction to go at any particular point in our life.  We search and search trying to figure out the will and purpose of God, as though He is some cruel administrator of a cosmic game of hide-and-seek, throwing His will into a far corner of the universe and then sending us on a frantic search.

 

“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” (Jn15:15)

 

There are STILL two trees in the middle of OUR garden.

1.      THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD… AND EVIL.  

We know what is good to do for our Father… we know what is evil.  

We make lists comparing the advantages and disadvantages of an upcoming directional change, trying to determine which option to choose according to what might be more logical.  

 

The problem with this “WAY”… or tree… is that our Creator said, “in the day you partake of it you shall surely die”[literally:  start the process of death] (Gen2:17)

 

How long have we been partaking of this tree in our lives?

 

2.      THE TREE OF LIFE.  

As a son of God I am to learn to operate by that which is life… and peace.  

 

When Elizabeth came near to Mary and both were to bring forth something into the Earth, the baby leapt within the womb of Elizabeth, letting her know that Christ was to be born… that Mary was to bring forth the very purpose of Yahweh, God. (Lk1:41-44)

 

 

The same happens within us… 

 

our spirit gives a little kick… leaps within us at the purpose and direction of our Father.  

And with that comes peace and rest…

because we are bringing forth the Prince of Peace… 

The Way… The Truth… The Life.

 

 

“And LET

the peace of God RULE

[decide as an umpire - "making the call" in "a conflict between contending forces"]

IN YOUR HEARTS” (Col3:15)

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
