Reluctant Benefactor


 

RELUCTANT BENEFACTOR 

 

Why do we still think like orphans approaching a Reluctant Benefactor, when we can come boldly before the throne of our Father, who has MADE US SONS.  

 

 

We act like we must be more earnest, more righteous, or plead our cause better than the next guy in order to move the heart and hand of THE ONE Who not only has given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, but has also already stated that those promises are YES and AMEN to those who believe.  (2 Pet 1:4; 2 Cor 1:20)

 


We are not “trying to get into Hs good graces”… but

We are born in!

 


We are already accepted and approved! (Eph 1:6)

 


“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear…” (Rom 8:15)

 


The struggle of an orphan is real.   

 

In your mind You come under a spirit of bondage to fear… fear you won’t get anything… fear you won’t fit in… fear of rejection, failure, not having enough… fear of not being good enough. 

 


“…But YOU HAVE RECEIVED 

the Spirit of adoption, 

whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, 

That WE ARE the children of God: 

And if children, then HEIRS;;

HEIRS OF GOD, 

and joint-heirs with Christ (Rom 8:15-17)

 


He is not a worldly benefactor, to be begged to, nor requested from… and if it pleases him, he will bless us. 

 


He is our FATHER…

 


“…who HATH blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN CHRIST”. (Eph 1:3)

 


1 Cor 2:12 Now we have received… the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are FREELY GIVEN  to us of God.

 

 

JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST!

 

Whatever HE has inherited…

 

I have inherited!

 

Whatever HE is walking in…

 

I am walking in!

 

AS HE IS…

 

Right Now…

 

SO AM I IN THIS WORLD!  (1 Jn 4:17)

 


I don’t have to plead… beg… nor keep on asking… to get Him to release anything. 

 


FREELY…

 


WITH POWER 

 

HE HAS GIVEN US 

 

ALL THINGS…

 

That pertain unto LIFE

 

AND GODLINESS.”  (2 Pet 1:3)

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
