My Tongue Is The Pen

MY TONGUE IS THE PEN

Ps45:1 “My heart is inditing a good matter:

I speak of the things which I have made touching the king:

my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.”

“…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” (Mt12:34; Lk6:45)

Inditing - primary root:  boil over or bubble up…

to gush, overflow…

exhibit, point out, or show forth.

It is an older usage of the legal term, “indict” – to formally accuse of or charge with a serious crime.

So… what are we full of?

What is spilling forth from the fountains of the deep of our heart?

Do I speak of things as “touching THE KING”?

Or do I gush forth the earthly things I see… situations influenced by the prince of the power of the air?

For which Kingdom do I speak?

My tongue is as a creative pen

always ready to write upon the Earth

and tablets of men’s hearts

what is… was… and is to come!

…to decree, form, and create

With what I speak,

Just like my FATHER!

James likens our tongue to a tiny rudder that steers a whole ship during a storm… and a little ember that will set all hell ablaze  (3:4-5).

We bless… and curse… WITH THE SAME TONGUE!

THIS SHOULD NOT BE!  (Jas3:10)

Jas3:11 “Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?”

Jas3:8 “But the tongue can no man tame;

it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison”

SO… what do we do?

CHANGE THE WELL!

Be renewed in THE SPIRIT OF OUR MIND. (Eph4:23)

Words are seeds. (Mk4;Mt13)

If I want a different crop… I plant a different seed.

Fill my heart with the seed of God and it will reproduce after HIS likeness and image.

First the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear…

…30, 60, and 100 fold

FINALLY… a field white unto harvest

…”and we know not how it happened” (Mk4:27)

Remember…

“you SHALL HAVE whatsoever you say.” (Mk11:23)

Ps45:1MSG

 “My heart bursts its banks,
    spilling beauty and goodness.
I pour it out in a poem to the king,
    shaping the river into words:”
