More Than Conquerors


 


MORE THAN CONQUERORS

 

Rom 8:37 “In all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through him that loved us.”


"MORE THAN CONQUERORS" is one Greek word painting a picture that we are: 

·       to prevail completely

·       to have complete victory over; 

·       to vanquish beyond; 

·       to gain a decisive, surpassing victory.

 

"IN ALL THESE THINGS". .. What things?



Verses 35 -36 list a few:
tribulation, distress,  persecution,  famine,  nakedness, peril,  sword

Continuing in verse 38:
...death,  life,  angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth, any other creature


MORE THAN CONQUERORS... 

to prevail completely.... 

to be completely victorious... 

to gain a surpassing victory... 

IN ALL THESE THINGS!

We are THE CALLED according to HIS PURPOSE. (vs 28).  And as THE CALLED, we have been predestinated to be conformed to the image of CHRIST ... the Messiah. (Vs 29-30)

 

And since PREDESTINATED,  that we ARE Sons of God, 

co-heirs with Him, 

BROTHERS with the same Creator King as Father… 

HE CALLED US… THEN JUSTIFIED US…. THEN GLORIFIED US.

 

WE ARE GLORIFIED… RAISED… RESURRECTED IN HIM… TRIUMPHANT VICTORS OVER THIS WORLD AND ALL IN IT.

 

PAST TENSE… AND YET CURRENT.

 

“For WHATSOEVER is born of God OVERCOMES the world: and this is the victory that OVERCOMES the world, even our faith.” (1Jn5:4-5)

 

We are in this world, but not of it, because HIS KINGDOM IS NOT OF THIS WORLD!!!  (Jn18:36)

 

Yet ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH has been given unto Him… and He tells us to GO… in His Name… in His place… (Matt28:18)

 

“What shall we then say to these things? 

If God be for us, who can be against us? 

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us ALL THINGS?” (Rom8:31-32)

 

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. 

In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; 

I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.” (Jn16:33)

 

1John 4:17 says, 

“AS HE IS… 

(RIGHT NOW!)

so are we in this world.”

 

WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS!

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
