Love Lifted Me
I awakened this morning thinking again of an old hymn from my childhood, "Love Lifted Me". The chorus goes, " love lifted me, love lifted me, when nothing else could help, love lifted me..."
As the little chorus washed as a bubbling stream over the rabble of my brain, I began to realize that "love" lifts... it edifies... it builds up... it esteems... it honors. Even in the midst of a correction, direction, or instruction... love still lifts. It never presses, nor oppresses... it never condemns, nor accuses... love beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Love never brings a person to doubt in one’s own abilities, goals, desires, or dreams, but rather encourages one to soar above all negativity , doubt, and unbelief.
It never faileth.
It always holds fast to its end goal, as said in the song: "love LIFTED me..."
