If I Were A Hammer

If I believe I am a hammer… everything looks like a nail!

All that comes across my path I see from that perspective… it is something to pound, pry, or beat into place.

It is just the way I am.

I am a hammer.

Proverbs 23:7  “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…”

If I believe I am a performer… The whole world is my stage.

If I believe I’m a teacher… I have a lesson for everyone.

If I believe I am a prophet… “here is the Word of the Lord for you…”

BUT…

WHAT IF I BELIEVE I AM A SON OF GOD?

“BEN” – Hebrew for “son”– builder of the family name.

We were never called to build “the Church.”

We were never told to build “the Kingdom”

We were never commanded to build a ministry.

What are we to be building then???

Paul says in1 Corinthians 3:9–10:

“For we are labourers together with God

YOU ARE God’s husbandry,

YOU ARE God’s building.

According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder,

I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.

 But let every man TAKE HEED how he buildeth thereupon”…

He follows that in vs 16,:  “Know ye not that YOU ARE the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

And then a warning in vs17:

“If any man defile the temple of God (you),

him shall God destroy;

 for the temple of God is holy,

which temple YOU ARE.”

We are sons of God sent to RE-PRESENT our Father…

Building the family name…

Building on HIS holy temple…

people…

not organizations.

We get so focused on protecting who we believe we are as a tool, we forget what Paul said earlier in 1 Corinthians 3:4–7:

“…are you not carnal…”

“…Who then is Paul,

and who is Apollos,

but ministers by whom ye believed…

I have planted,

Apollos watered;

but God gave the increase.

So then neither is he that planteth any thing,

neither he that watereth;

BUT GOD… “

HE IS EVERYTHING !
