He Who Overcomes


 


HE WHO OVERCOMES

 

 

In “The Revelation of Jesus Christ to John”, while speaking to OVERCOMERS, HE either starts or ends the statement of promise by saying, “He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what THE SPIRIT says to the ekklesia (assembly)”

 

 

HE then states the “effect” of being an OVERCOMER.  

 

 

HE WHO OVERCOMES

 

·       I will give to eat from the tree of life…  (Rev2:7)

 

·       will not be hurt by the second death (the lake of fire). (Rev2:11)

 

·       I will give some of the hidden manna to eat, (Rev2:17)

 

·       I will give him a white stone with a new name engraved on the stone which no one knows except the one who receives it. (Rev2:17)

 

·       I will give power over the nations (Rev2:26)

 

·       He shall rule them with a rod of iron.  (Rev2:27)

 

·       I will give him the morning star. (Rev2:28)

 

·       shall be clothed in white garments (Rev3:5)

 

·       I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life (Rev3:5)

 

·       I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (Rev3:5)

 

·       I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God. (Rev3:12)

 

·       I will write on him the name of My God and… the city of My God (Rev3:12)

 

·       I will write on him My new name. (Rev3:12)

 

·       I will grant to sit with Me on My throne. (Rev3:21)

 

·       shall inherit all things. (Rev21:7)

 

·       I will be his God…

…he shall be My son. (Rev21:7)

 

 

SO…

…NOW…

 

 

Rom6:11 …”reckon” yourselves (come to a “logical” conclusion of the bottom line)

to be dead indeed to sin, 

but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 

 

Buried… then Resurrected with HIM. (Rom6:4-8)

 

 

…BORN OF GOD!  (Jn1:13;1Jn5:1)

 

 

1Jn5:4-5

“For WHATEVER is born of God 

OVERCOMES (present/future) 

the world…

…And this is the victory 

that HAS OVERCOME (past tense)

the world…

…OUR FAITH. 

Who is he who OVERCOMES (present/future) the world…

…he who believes Jesus is the Son of God.”

 

 

“…as HE is…

[RIGHT NOW]

… so are we 

…in this world.” (1Jn4:17)

 

 

Rev12:11

And they OVERCAME…

…by the blood of the Lamb 

…by the word of their “testimony” 

(judicial evidence given as witness of close association)

and they loved not their lives 

Even when faced with death.

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
