Generational Curses


 


Generational Curses?

 

Didn’t Christ become a curse for us?  Wouldn’t He, then, be the end of the curse concerning us?

 

If we are BORN AGAIN - a new creature in Christ - are we not now of the generation of Christ?  

 

Are we not now sons of God and no longer of our natural lineage?  

 

In the Old Covenant there was a law:

Exodus 20:5  …I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

 

BUT… 

 

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 

 

YES… it used to be that our sins and the punishment would be visited upon the third and fourth generation. 

 

It used to be even a proverb amongst the people of Israel… and… for some reason … even continues throughout the Church today. 

 

We have used that saying as an excuse long enough! 

 

BUT… prophesying  of the New Covenant to come…. in which WE ARE NOW LIVING…

Jeremiah 3:29-32 says, “IN THOSE DAYS 

THEY SHALL SAY NO MORE,

‘The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’

 

But… 

 

every one shall die for his own iniquity:

 

EVERY MAN THAT EATETH THE SOUR GRAPE, HIS TEETH SHALL BE SET ON EDGE.

 

Behold, THE DAYS  SHALL COME, saith the Lord,

 

That I will make a NEW COVENANT with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:  Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers…”

 

“The soul that sins, it [is the one that] shall die. The son shall not bear and be punished for the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear and be punished for the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him only, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon the wicked only.”

Ezekiel 18:20 AMPC

 

The days of the generational curses are over.  

 

We are in the NEW COVENANT… redeemed and purchased by Christ… set as the Temple of the Holy Spirit. 

 

We are OF CHRIST… no longer of our natural heritage, lineage, ethnicity, nor any other natural identity with which we still, for some reason, want to identify. 

 

WE ARE OF CHRIST… HE IS OUR ALPHA (beginning lineage) 

 

AND OUR OMEGA (our heritage or inheritance) 

 

HE IS OUR BLOODLINE!

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
