CASTING DOWN IMAGINATIONS Part 1

 

 

it is exhausting chasing down a multitude of scenarios every time a decision or problem presents itself. . 

 

 

We spend sleepless nights… unproductive days with countless hours chasing  illusional rabbits down trails that haven’t even been forged yet… arriving at a plethora of destinations only consistent with our worst nightmares. 

 

 

We have just imagined every conceivable dire outcome of situations in which we have no consideration of a future where Jesus Christ is Lord – the ONLY ONE WITH RIGHT OF DECISION -  and have relegated ourselves to a demonic lie, which says we are Fatherless… orphans… bastards who must fend for themselves because no one else will. 

 

 

We try to convince ourselves we are “realists”, but we have exchanged our reality in Christ for a conjured up world where evil reigns.

 

 

“What? 

know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost 

which is in you…

 YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN?  

For ye are bought with a price…” (1Cor6:19-20)

 

 

“Take no thought for your life,”  (Mtt6:25)

 

 

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”  (1Pet5:7)

 

 

 BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING  (Phil4:6)

 

 

 

The word used for “anxious” is most commonly translated ”careful”, or “taking thought”.  It originates from the idea of being distracted by too much care… allowing fear. 

 

 

Read 2 Corinthians 10:3–5 without the parenthetical statement of verse 4:

 

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh… Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

 

 

This gives the strategy  to tear down strongholds, operating by the weapons of our warfare which are mighty through God (vs4)

 

 

1.     CAST DOWN IMAGINATIONS… get rid of all the “WHAT IFS”… all the thought processes with calculated reasonings

 

 

2.     CAST DOWN EVERY HIGH THING that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. 

 

 

3.     BRINGING EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE to the obedience of Christ

 

 

If it doesn’t align with the very thought, intent, purpose and motive of CHRIST, the WORD (logos)…

 

 

CAST IT DOWN!

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
