OUR FILTER
OUR FILTER
It is
interesting how everything we read, hear, see, or receive through our senses is
all perceived and processed through OUR FILTER… the particular lens
through which we perceive every event, situation, and new bit of life information
bombarding us at any point in time.
Every new circumstance
is a mystery… a riddle, per se… that we have somehow calculated a way to
perceive that makes sense to us.
1Cor13:9,12NKJV
“For we know
in part and we prophesy in part…
…for now we see in a mirror, DIMLY…”
DIMLY - ainigmati: Riddle, enigma, an
obscure thing
Our
unregenerate brain is not built to find truth.
It is wired
to defend what we already believe.
Psychologists
call it “confirmation bias”.
Once we start
to believe something, our mind becomes its bodyguard
hunting for
evidence that agrees with us and discards everything that does not.
We believe we
are being logical, but logic came second.
The belief
came first, then our mind consistently builds the most “logical” case to
protect it.
We are not impartially
analyzing the world… but instead collecting proof for a verdict we have already
reached.
After all… our
belief system cannot be faulty or wrong!
Pr23:7NKJV “For as he THINKS in his heart, so is
he.”
That word, “THINKS”
is “shaar”, which Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance defines as: to estimate;
A primary root; literally to split open, I.e, to act as a gatekeeper;
(figuratively) to estimate or think: to calculate
Your inner
man… where you understand, reason, and calculate… acts as a gatekeeper allowing
or disallowing… FILTERING thoughts that form you into who you believe
you are.
You become what you've
calculated.
YOUR
FILTER is a VEIL
over your eyes through which you PERCEIVE every bit of
information coming to you.
“Nevertheless,
when one turns to
the Lord, the VEIL
is taken away.” (2Cor3:16NKJV)
Col3:3AMP “For
you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in
God.”
1Cor2:16AMP “…we
have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].”
“take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2Cor10:5BSB)
SO… “LET THIS MIND be in you which
was also in Christ Jesus,” (Phil2:5NKJV)
·
LET yourself
see life as Christ sees it.
·
LET yourself think
as Christ thinks.
·
LET yourself
believe as Christ believes.
·
LET yourself see
YOU as Christ sees you.
·
LET Christ be YOUR FILTER!
