CONJURING UP GOD

CONJURING UP GOD

Why do we start off our “services” with music?

One reason given is that Judah (meaning praise) was the tribe Israel sent into battle first.

Another reason eventually offered is from Psalm 100:4:

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise...”

However… the first response supposes we are doing battle rather than to praise or worship.

The second is from the perspective that we are Earthbound… God is in Heaven… and we must enter HIS courts.

But wait… aren't WE HIS temple… a habitation of God through the Spirit? (Eph2:21-22)

The first and most common reason to start a meeting with music that rolls off of the tongues of most people is:

“To set the tone or mood”

HMMMMM… Why would WE do THAT?

Does anyone remember what Lucifer’s job was before his fall?

According to Eze28 he had something to do with music, being made up of timbrels (tabrets) and pipes, but yet he is now considered a master manipulator… deceiver…

…And… we find ourselves manipulating the tone or mood?

…. Or we often believe God is not there yet… so… we must CONJURE HIM UP.

We sing a song or phrase to STIR an emotional response…

Replicating the spirit… but it is not HIM.

In Isa14:14 Lucifer says, “I will BE LIKE the most High.”

Acts17:27-28 “…they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us…”

We are often BLIND to the fact that we are IN CHRIST JESUS… SEATED at the right hand of the Father in Heavenly places and GROPE  back and forth to find where HE is… even though HE IS RIGHT HERE!

Eph2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are made NIGH by the blood of Christ.”

…How much closer can you get than “NIGH”?

SING? OF COURSE!

FIRST?

…Probably find out what HE wants.

CONSIDER…

·       Is the Holy Spirit coming, or has He already come?

·       Are we calling on Him, or has He first called us?

·       Are we trying to press into His presence, or does His presence dwell in us?

·       Are we entering His sanctuary, or are WE His sanctuary?

YOU don't have to CONJURE UP GOD

…HE CALLED YOU

…to be WITH HIM!
