 THE PROCESS


“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son...” (Rom8:20)


“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel…” (Isa43:1)


“The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.” (Isa9:8)


Even though we were born as a Jacob - a supplanter/deceiver - who will hear what God promises, but try to perform it ourselves…

…Our Father is at work to transform us into Israel – a prince of God. 


“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Phil2:13)


“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” (Phil1:6)


• EMBRACE THE PROCESS

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,

 knowing that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” (Jas1:2-3)


The process of a trial exists to work something in us. 

It is a journey… not the destination. 


It tests our faith – the place from we see all of life…the evidence and substance we already have… the place from which all our decisions are made. 

It gives us a gauge with which to measure where our faith is… what we REALLY believe. 

And it works in us PATIENCE – hupomone (Greek): constant, cheerful consistency 

 

• ENGAGE THE PROCESS

I must decide whether to be the victor… or the victim

“…And LET patience have her perfect work…” (Jas1:4)

“LET this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” (Phil2:5)

“…BE YE TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Rom12:2)


• POSSESS THE PROCESS

“…so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing”. (Jas1:4)


“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Gal6:9)


I embrace what Christ is actually working in me… the metamorphosis…


…emerging as a new creature in His likeness and image.

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
