The Sword of The One Who Made Him
THE SWORD OF THE ONE WHO MADE HIM
In the book of Job, after staying relatively silent for 37 chapters, Yahweh, God finally gives HIS perspective on Job, his friends, their world view, and leviathan – the serpent… the beast… the behemoth… the enemy.
The Creator and Sustainer of all things begins to ask Job some pointed questions:
· Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?
· Job 40:2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
· Job 40:8–11 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
He then begins to talk about this enemy, a behemoth, and how to take him on in battle
Job 40:15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee;
I, the Lord, created him
You can’t make a Covenant with him, nor get him to speak softly with you. You won’t make him serve you, nor toy with him like a bird.
His scales are so tight that you can’t pierce him with your weapons. He swallows up any threatening river. He has no fear of anything.
Job 40:19 He is the chief of the ways of God: HE THAT MADE HIM can make his sword to approach unto him
.
The only thing that can even approach him and take him down is THE SWORD OF THE ONE WHO MADE HIM!
And what is “the sword of the Spirit of God"?
THE WORD!
Even Christ said, “IT IS WRITTEN!” while dealing with the serpent.
The Lord then gives the winning strategy over this great beast in our life (Job 41:8)
· LAY THINE HAND UPON HIM – recognize he is there and make your stand.
· REMEMBER THE BATTLE – HE had just told Job how HE had everything in HIS hand, but we have the battle already won by Christ… what HE bore… what HE took… and what HE accomplished
· DO NO MORE – Rest
We war from a place of peace and rest…
IT IS FINISHED!
