THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

Truth is not just a set of principles or a statement of fact... it is a person.

Christ said, “I am the way... the truth... & the life”

He also refers to the Holy Spirit as “the Spirit of Truth”.

Jn16:13-14. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Why is it that we seem to enjoy smacking someone right between the eyes with what WE think is the truth?

Could you imagine “smacking” them with Christ?... or… hitting them with the Spirit of Truth, also called the Comforter in Jn15:26?

When ministering to somebody, we’re not just ministering a message, or a song, a “Word”, or a principal. We’re ministering a person – the spirit.

Gal3:5. “He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

He is also called “the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus”
Rom8:1-2. “…For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

And… for some reason… we try to bring everyone around us back under the law of sin and death with what we are calling “truth”, but it is void of the very Spirit of Truth – which giveth life!

2Cor3:6. “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

The New Covenant and the Spirit never bring us back under condemnation, nor under bondage to the law of sin and death…

They always point us directly to “THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE”, HIMSELF!

If we are, indeed, speaking by the Spirit for Christ, then we should be able to say…

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (Jn6:63)

For a man, as Adam, always wants to tell you what he thinks you should do, but… “the last Adam is a life giving Spirit” (1Cor 15:45)

So… are we ministering the Spirit of Christ, who came that we might have life and that more abundantly?.... or… are we ministering what WE think people need to hear and bringing death, condemnation, and bondage?

Col4:6. “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
