Doubtful Disputations
DOUBTFUL DISPUTATIONS
Aren’t we all brothers and sisters playing in the same sandbox?
I may let you know if you unknowingly pick up cat excrement… but… to tell you how to play with the toys you brought or what to build with the sand? … NAW!
For some reason, though…
We believe we are playground monitors.
We tell people – even unbelievers – how to act… or speak… not to swear around us…
Trying to conform others to a false image.
Operating with that religious spirit makes us outcasts. .
Not for the sake of Christ…
But… They resist that spirit!.
Romans 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to DOUBTFUL DISPUTATIONS.
OR…
They who are “weak or strengthless in faith”… receive to yourselves with welcoming fellowship,
but avoid disputes,
attempting to dissuade them from their judgement or position on “doubtful practices”
through any controversial
debate of opinions.
Continuing Rom 14:2-5…
“For one believeth that he may eat all things:
another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth:
for God hath received him.
Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant?
to his own master he standeth or falleth.
Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
One man esteemeth one day above another:
another esteemeth every day alike.
Let every man be FULLY PERSUADED
IN HIS OWN MIND.”
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,”. (Eph 6:12)
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”(Phil 2:3)
“We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.” (Rom 15:1-2)
Are we to sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron? YES! (Pr27:17)
Should we restore a brother when we see him in a fault? YES! (Gal 6:1)
“…Let all things be done unto edifying.” (1 Cor 14:26)
