GIVE US A KING

Image
GIVE US A KING!     “ GIVE US A KING to rule us like all the other nations.” (1Sam8:5)   Why do we want to be like everyone else? We think it is only RIGHT to AT LEAST have THE SAME… …ministry, success, honor, lifestyle… LIFE!   We even look at the world and think that maybe we should do things the same way they are doing it… THEN we'll be successful, prosperous, etc… and have an easier time doing it!   Why do we spend so much time “comparing ourselves among ourselves”?                   Isn't that viewed as “unwise”? (2Cor10:12)     And yet YAHWEH states in Isa55:8: "…My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,"   And no matter how many times we falter or think we finally “got it”… He still desires to show us “a more excellent way.” (1Cor12:31) …“a new and living way” (Heb10:20)     Israel had been delivered from a tyrant in Eg...

THE MEASURE

THE MEASURE   In ancient Greek culture, the word " metron " was commonly used in various fields, including commerce, architecture, and philosophy, to denote a standard or unit of measurement as the controlling basis by which something is determined as acceptable or unacceptable… enough or not enough…  fair or not fair… etc. The concept of " measure " was significant in Greek thought, often associated with balance, proportion, and moderation…  by implication, a determined certain portion (degree)… hence…  … THE MEASURE .   The NASB version reiterates this idea very succinctly by stating in Mtt7:2, Mk4:24, and Lk6:38: “…By your STANDARD OF MEASURE it will be MEASURED to you in return…” [ literal Greek: “for with that MEASURE you MEASURE it will be MEASURED again to you”] …whether in judging others… forgiving…condemning… pardoning… giving… …or hearing/ listening as in Mk4:24(AMP):         ...

Image
Tetelestai, IT IS FINISHED   The Gospel of John was written in Greek, which was the common language for business, commerce, political, and other public dealings of the day.     “ IT IS FINISHED” is only one Greek word, “ tetelestai ”     There will always be a debate concerning what language Jesus and the disciples spoke, mainly so the enemy can keep everyone focused on something else other than Jesus Christ… THE WORD… the LOGOS ( the thought, intent purpose, and motive behind what is spoken ) (Jn1:1-14)     Tetelestai is only found twice in the New Testament… two verses apart.   ·        John 19:28  “Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished ( Tetelestai), that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst.”   ·        John 19:30  “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED (Tetelestai) : and he bowed his head, and gav...
