COUNT IT ALL JOY

Image
COUNT IT ALL JOY   It is amazing how Hebrew and Greek are very graphic… even picturesque in nature.  They rely upon nuances, such as person, tense, mood, voice, case, number, gender, and comparison to paint the idea or concept in the listener’s mind of the very thought, intent, purpose, and motive… the heart… the perspective from which the conveyor/communicator sees.    For example… Jas1:2 “…count it all joy  when you fall into various temptations…”     The word, “ COUNT ”:   “ hēgéomai ”  is usually translated as governor, leader, chief, ruler… but also as… consider, count, think, esteem, judge, regard, suppose.   Directly Defined:    to lead the way (going before as chief),  esteem, judge, suppose, think .    Now… Depending on the  Tense, Mood, or Voice  the word expands the normally defined limitations and colorizes a depth of perception not seen within our normal literal filter.  In...

HOW DO I KNOW? part 2

HOW DO I KNOW?    Part 2   Abram, trying to determine if God’s promise was true, asks… “ Lord God, HOW DO I KNOW…?”  (Gen15:8)   THEN… Gen15:17 “And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold  a smoking furnace  (a fire-pot, oven, furnace) ,  and a burning lamp  (torch, lamp, to shine light)    TWO THINGS … “passed between those pieces.”     1.          THE WORD     First of all…  THE WORD OF GOD  is the only thing sharp enough to divide and distinguish between all the parts of what we believe God told us.      Heb4:12 “For the  WORD  of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword,  piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”     Ps119:105 “ THY WORD  is a  LAMP  un...

HOW DO I KNOW?  part 1   Gen15:1NASB “After these things the WORD of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, SAYING, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.”   Often, we see a vision… hear a Word… Dream a dream… somehow sense that the Lord is telling us to do something… go somewhere… or just be who He is showing us  “I AM” .    BUT… we are not sure if we even really heard HIS voice.      Even though Abram had just “believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.” (Gen15:6), in the very next verse God tells him ALL he will inherit!     Like us, Abram was unsure if what he heard Yahweh saying was  TRUE .      He turns around and asks, “ Lord God, HOW DO I KNOW…?”  (Gen15:8)     God tells him to take a heifer, a ram, and a female goat… each three years old…  a turtledove, and a young pigeon.    “And he took all these,  and ...
