The Weapons of Our Warfare:  PRAISE

 

 

I would encourage you to read 2 Chronicles 20.

 

Three of the mightiest armies Israel had ever encountered were approaching - and all at the same time!

 

 

2Chr20:3-4 

“And Jehoshaphat feared, 

and set himself to seek the Lord, 

and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 

And Judah gathered themselves together, 

to ask help of the Lord : 

even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.”

 

 

Jehoshaphat and all of the people were freaking out. Their prayer and focus was on the nearing enemy.

 

 

Then they changed their tune... kinda mid-prayer. 

They began to exalt God…

to recognize His might and power…

 

WHO HE IS!

 

 

Vs 13... they stood before the Lord... 

 

and He gave instructions in vs 15 

·       be not afraid nor dismayed for the reason of this great multitude; 

·       for the battle is not yours, 

·       but God's...

·       you need not fight in this battle: 

·       set yourselves...

·       stand still... 

·       and see the salvation of the Lord 

·       with you..."

 

 

They worshipped… (vs18)

 

 

Vs 20-22 is amazing strategy: 

"…and when they had begun to sing and to praise, 

the Lord set ambushments against (the enemy)

 

If we keep our eyes on the enemy and that is what we talk about... 

...not only will we have what we say (Mk 11:20-26), 

but we give him exactly what he wants: 

 

GLORY... 

 

with our time, energy, attention, and faith that he is there and has power to do anything (he only gets the entrance or authority when we award it to him)

 

 

By speaking about all the "enemy " is doing... it just feeds all that is going on in your life with the negative circumstances, and keeps your focus on the wrong lord

 

 

Lord means " the only one with right of decision"

 

 

Begin to see Christ high and lifted up... 

seated upon the throne... 

and YOUR temple (HIS temple) will, indeed, be once again…

filled with His glory. Isa 6:1

CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
