Two Kinds of Righteousness


 

TWO KINDS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

 

Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God

 

We TRY to be holy.  We make up ways to feel more righteous.  We don’t eat this… we physically observe feasts… times… seasons… (Gal 4:10)… even attempt to live by the Jewish calendar… Call Christ by His Jewish name… only read certain Bible versions… 

We revert back to a religion rather than a relationship – taking up traditions and law rather than liberty and grace.  And then… we try to convince others that if they don’t use a certain name for our Father, that we just not spiritually astute, missing the mark.  Our knowledge has puffed us up and makes us believe we are more righteous, because of what we do rather than who we are.

I have some brothers that even go so far as to remove the vowels in our English words (ie “G_d") appearing more “accurate “ and more righteous.  IT’S ENGLISH… NOT HEBREW!

 

Galatians 3:1–3  O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you?...Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

 

The very first foundational principle of the doctrine of Jesus Christ is, “Repentance from Dead Works and Faith Toward God”  (Heb 6:1-2)

 

2nd type of Righteousness

 

Hebrews 9:14  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

 

2 Corinthians 5:21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that WE MIGHT BE MADE the righteousness of God in him.

 

 

Romans 3:22 …the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:

 

NOTICE: this righteousness is by the faith OF JESUS CHRIST… not in … OF!

Our righteousness is by HIS faith in what HE HAS DONE… Nothing to add!

 

“IT IS FINISHED!”

 

YOU ARE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS.

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
