Only Believe!


 

ONLY BELIEVE

 

Christ had just delivered the Gadarene man and was making his way back across the sea where A crowd of people had gathered awaiting his return. 

Amongst them was a ruler of the synagogue, Jairus, whose daughter was dying. 

When Christ landed, Jairus fell down at Jesus’ feet begging him to come to heal his daughter. 

 

Christ agreeably began to make his way to the house, but a woman with an issue of blood for 12 years,  pressed through the crowd, touching the hem of his garment. 

Feeling the virtue (dunamis – miraculous power, might, and ability) flow from him, He stopped and asked, “who touched me?”. 

Christ then told her, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.” (Mk 5; Lk8)

 

SO…. You get the picture. 

 

Jairus was in a real panic. His daughter was dying. 

 

He figured he had one shot… get Christ there. 

 

But… there were so many people… and so many other things going on. 

 

And this woman… stops the procession… and is healed. 

 

Come on folks… let’s go!… my daughter….

 

About that time one of Jairus’s servants ran up and tells  him not to bother the master any further… his daughter was dead. 

 

Christ, overhearing this conversation, emphatically  states 4 words that would ring true throughout eternity…,

 

“FEAR NOT…

ONLY BELIEVE!”

 

How many times do we get all shook up attempting to get our Father to do something on our behalf?  How often do we pray, hoping He will come through before the symptoms worsen, the situation spirals out of control,  our finances just give out… or whatever we are believing for… dies?

 

Fear enters…

 

That He won’t show up. 

 

BUT…, 

 

we are not waiting for Christ to come to our house. 

 

He dwells IN US!

 

CHRIST… the healer… the deliverer… the anointed one… the One full of glory, power, authority, and might, and dominion… the One who sets the captive free…

 

IS IN US!

 

Christ, “Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.”  (Mt 8:17)

 

 

And He said,

 

 

“IT IS FINISHED!”

 

“FEAR NOT,

 

ONLY BELIEVE”

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
